Latin American Lidar
Meeting a Success
The Fifth Workshop on Lidar Measurements in Latin America was held in
Buenos Aires, from November 30 to
December 2, 2009. Sixty-five participants,
including six from the United States,
attended this meeting, which was held
at the Instituto Tecnológico de Buenos
Aires. The main goal was to bring Latin
American researchers and students
together to interact not only with those
from their own country, but also with
professionals from other areas and leaders of international lidar teams. A selection of papers presented at the meeting
will be sent to Optica Pura y Aplicada
magazine. OSA provided a small grant
to support this meeting.
