Elliot Scientific has launched its own range of low-cost high-quality glass filters for research and industry. Six product groups are
available that encompass neutral density filters in both absorptive Schott glass and metalized optical flats; dichroic filters in RGB
and CMYK colors; and long, short and band pass filters manufactured from Schott world-renowned glasses. The new stock filters
come as 1/2” and 1” diameters plus 2” squares. Alternative sizes and other custom performance specifications can be manufactured on request.

PhaseCam laser interferometers for accurate
surface and wavefront measurements at 3. 39
or 10. 6 µm wavelengths. PhaseCam IR Laser
Interferometers employ dynamic interferometry
technology to acquire measurement data in less
than 1 millisecond. Because acquisition time is so short, the instruments
can measure accurately despite vibration and air turbulence. This ability allows the sys-
tems to be used in difficult environments such as clean rooms and production areas. The
dual-mode systems also operate using traditional, temporal phase-shifting interferometry.
Turnkey PhaseCam IR systems include 4Sight advanced wavefront analysis software,
providing extensive 2D and 3D analysis and visualization tools, as well as comprehensive
filtering, masking, database and import/export functions.

SharpEye 40/40 Series Receives FM Approval for use in
The new explosion-proof SharpEye 40/40 optical
flame detector series has been tested by FM
Approvals (project ID 3029553) and received the
official approval for use in hazardous (classified)
locations in the U.S. and Canada. The entire
line of optical flame detectors will be listed in the
Factory Mutual Approval Guide on the Online
publication of FM Approvals. The new SharpEye
40/40 series flame detectors provide the most
comprehensive protection against hydrocarbon-based and water vapors combustion products
types of fuel and gas fires, with several models
that feature enhanced sensitivity to ethanol and
other alcohol derivates that serve as new alternative fuels and bio-fuels.
“Ultimate” Optical Table
The vibration-damping “Ultimate Performer”
5300 Series optical table from Kinetic
Systems offers maximum dynamic deflection coefficients of ≤0.3 ( 10) and an IRD-
maximum relative motion as low as 0.8 ( 10)
inches. The 5300 Series provides rigidity and
stability with a high natural frequency. It fea-
tures broadband damping plus quad-tuned
dampers in each corner. Flatness is ±0.005”
overall. Core shear modulus is 225,000 psi.
The 5300 Series is available in sizes up to
6’ x 20’ and in thicknesses up to 36”. Standard tabletops have a ferromagnetic stainless
steel top skin, a carbon steel bottom skin and
a proprietary epoxy-bonded honeycomb core
featuring the proprietary SPILLPRUF design,
whereby entire rows of mounting holes are
sealed to protect the core from accidental
spills and to simplify cleanup.
